Garage Door Repair in Ramsey, NJ
Ramsey is ten minutes from our Woodcliff Lake shop, straight up Route 17. Most of the housing here is post-war colonials and splits with attached two-car garages, and the doors we see are a mix of original 1970s and 1980s steel doors and their first replacements.
What we get called for
Broken torsion springs. Cables off the drum. Rollers that have worn through and let the door bind. Openers from the 1990s that finally stripped a gear. Bottom seals that have gone flat and let the winter in.
A lot of Ramsey doors are at the age where a repair is throwing good money after bad, and we will tell you when that is the case. Replacements come from the Carlstadt warehouse; standard sizes are usually a same-day install. We are a dealer for C.H.I., Clopay, Wayne Dalton, Amarr and the other major brands.
Why springs go when they do
A standard torsion spring is rated around 10,000 cycles, six or seven years for most families. If your Ramsey door is on its original springs from a 2015 install, it is due. Cold weather is what finishes them off, so January is our busiest spring month here.
