LiftMaster 893LM Single-Button Remote
Simple 1-button remote. Time: 2 minutes

Press & release the yellow Learn button on your opener The light should turn on. You have 30 seconds.

Press & hold the button on the 893LM remote (2-3 seconds) The opener light will blink—your remote is programmed.

Test it Stand 15 feet away and press the button. Door should open/close.✓ If it works, you’re done!
LiftMaster 885LM Two-Button Remote
2-button remote for dual doors. Time: 3 minutes

Press & release the yellow Learn button on your first opener The light should turn on. You have 30 seconds.

Press & hold the first button on the 885LM (2-3 seconds) Button 1 = Door 1. The opener light will blink when programmed.

Repeat for the second door with Button 2 Press Learn button on Door 2 opener, then hold Button 2 on remote.

Test both buttons Stand 15 feet away from each door and test.✓ Each button should operate its assigned door
LiftMaster 893MAX Three-Button Remote
3-button remote for multiple doors. Time: 5 minutes

For each door, press the yellow Learn button on that opener Light comes on. You have 30 seconds.

Press & hold one button on the 893MAX (2-3 seconds) Button 1 = Door 1, Button 2 = Door 2, Button 3 = Door 3.Opener light blinks = success

Repeat steps 1-2 for each additional door Program Button 2 to Door 2 opener, then Button 3 to Door 3 opener.

Test all buttons Each button should operate its assigned door.
LiftMaster 877LM Four-Button Remote
4-button remote for multiple doors/functions. Time: 8 minutes

Press & release the yellow Learn button on your first opener Light comes on. You have 30 seconds.

Press & hold the first button on the 877LM (2-3 seconds) Button 1 = Door 1. Opener light will blink to confirm.

Repeat steps 1-2 for each additional door (up to 4) Program buttons 2, 3, and 4 to their respective doors or functions.

Test all buttons Each button should operate its assigned door or function.Hold button for 2-3 seconds if door doesn’t respond
LiftMaster 373LM Wireless Keypad
PIN code entry keypad. Time: 5 minutes

Install 4 AA batteries in the keypad Make sure polarity is correct (+/- matches).

Mount keypad on your garage wall (within 40 feet of opener) Install at comfortable height for entering PIN code.

Press & release the yellow Learn button on opener Light comes on. You have 30 seconds.

Enter your 4-digit PIN code on the keypad Example: 1234. Then press # or Enter. Opener light blinks = success.Choose a PIN you’ll remember easily

Test the keypad Enter your PIN + # at the keypad. Door should open/close.
LiftMaster 372LM Wireless Keypad
PIN code entry keypad with 16-button layout. Time: 5 minutes

Install 2 AA batteries in the keypad Check battery contacts for corrosion. Replace if necessary.

Mount keypad on your garage wall (within 40 feet of opener) Place at a comfortable height, away from direct water exposure.

Press & release the yellow Learn button on opener Light comes on. You have 30 seconds to proceed.

Enter your 3-6 digit PIN code on the keypad Then press the # button. Opener light blinks = success.Use numbers 0-9 and avoid simple sequences like 1234

Test the keypad from outside Enter your PIN + # and verify door opens/closes.
LiftMaster Safety Sensors Installation
Infrared sensors for garage door safety. Time: 10 minutes

Position sensors on both sides of the garage door opening Mount 4-6 inches above the floor for optimal detection range.

Ensure sensors face each other directly Sensors should have a clear line of sight to each other. Use a level to align.

Connect wires to the sensor terminals on your opener Follow the color coding: White = trigger, Black = ground.Use 18 AWG or thicker wire for runs over 50 feet

Check sensor alignment lights Both sensors should show a steady red light. If not, realign them.

Test safety reversal Close the door and wave your hand in the beam. Door should reverse.
Troubleshooting & Support
Solutions for common programming issues
Remote not working?
- Replace remote batteries with fresh ones
- Make sure you pressed Learn button within 30 seconds before pressing remote button
- Stand closer (within 20 feet) and try again
- Hold remote button for full 2-3 seconds continuously
- Try programming to a different button if available
- Clear all programming and start over (press Learn for 6+ seconds until light stops blinking)
Keypad not responding?
- Replace keypad batteries (check battery type: 4 AA or 2 AA depending on model)
- Move keypad closer to opener (should be within 40 feet)
- Make sure you pressed # button after typing PIN
- Double-check your PIN number (no leading zeros)
- Try a different PIN code to test functionality
- Clean keypad contacts if buttons are unresponsive
Safety sensors not detecting?
- Check that both sensors show steady red alignment lights
- Clean sensor lenses (use soft cloth—don’t scratch)
- Verify sensors face each other with clear line of sight
- Check all wire connections at both the sensor and opener
- Test with wire connections reversed (swap white/black at one end)
- Replace batteries in wireless sensor models
Opener Learn button light won’t come on?
- Check that garage door is fully closed
- Verify opener has power (check outlet/breaker/GFI reset)
- Press Learn button firmly for 1-2 seconds
- Try unplugging opener for 30 seconds, then plug back in
- If door moves when Learn button pressed, it’s a different type of opener—contact us
- If still no light, the opener may need professional service
Door reverses when it shouldn’t?
- Check that safety sensors are properly aligned
- Clean sensor lenses of dust and debris
- Verify nothing is blocking the door’s path
- Test door force settings (may need professional adjustment)
- Check for loose connections at the sensor terminals
